Josie Dixey Watson
Josie (she/her) is a performer, writer and producer based in London. She graduated with a BA in English and received a Distinction for her MA in Film and Television Studies at the University of Bristol. Most recently she co-created and performed Communion with the Bush Young Company at Bush Theatre.
Acting training includes National Youth Theatre and Bush Young Company. Producing credits include Out of Order, a film festival at the Barbican with the Barbican Young Film Programmers and Hush Festival, a storytelling festival at the Chelsea Theatre.

Highlights

Performance :
Josie co-created and performed Communion with the Bush Young Company at the Bush Theatre in 2024. For this she wrote and co-choregraphed a movement sequence. The show received 4 stars from The Stage. COMMUNION
While studying a Film and Television MA, Josie also starred as Dani in Tunnel Vision, a short film that she also worked on with other film students in 2022.
In 2019, Josie wrote, directed, and starred in a short play, The Devil Who Came to Tea for Writebear at The White Bear in Bristol.
Josie played Miranda in the Brave Mirror Productions adaptation of The Tempest at The Island in Bristol 2019.
In 2017 Josie performed alongside the English National Ballet Youth Company at Sadler’s Wells.

The Revolution’s Promise
A rehearsed reading of The Revolution’s Promise, a script of testimonies written by The Freedom Theatre and Artists on the Frontline. Performed at Next Door Records, followed by a discussion with Sarah Agha and Ahmed Massoud. Funds raised for The Freedom Theatre in the West Bank.
Hush Festival
Josie was part of the production team and community outreach for the first annual Hush Festival that focused on sharing the stories of unheard and denied voices through theatre, film, dance and talks. Hush Festival
